The National Museum of The Bahamas presently operates the national museum system, which currently includes: The Pompey Museum of Slavery and Emancipation (Nassau), The Balcony House Museum (Nassau), The San Salvador Museum (San Salvador), and the Long Island Museum (Long Island).

The Museums Grant Programme is the development and coordination of traveling exhibits to other museums, design and exhibition and development of teacher training materials on Bahamian History.

The National Museum of The Bahamas currently manages the aforementioned Museums, Monuments of The Bahamas, Fort Charlotte Historic Complex, Fort Montagu, Fort Fincastle Historic Complex and other military fortifications. The Corporation’s mandate is to develop museums in other Bahamian communities and create National Historic Preservation Programs and National Aquatic and Terrestrial Archaeological Programs. The Corporation also maintains The National Register of Historic Resources. Inquiries should be directed to The National Museum of The Bahamas Corporate Office.
